The Freeman Raincoat - Dijon - Pre-Order

Pre-Orders will ship the last week of August. Our classic Freeman Raincoat made with a new generation of modern enviro-waxed cotton that we are proud to share with you. This unique shell material is milled in Scotland and relies on the unique properties of a special plant-based wax in combination with a PFAS-free water-repellent coating resulting in a storm-rated fabric.  The finish is completely dry for those looking for an alternative to a more traditional waxed cotton, while also being gentler on the earth than synthetic tech fabrics.  With a dense and weighty feel, the matte waxed cotton makes for an excellent barrier against the elements. Milled and proofed by Halley Stevensons of Scotland, expert producers of waxed fabrics for over 100 years.  Using this expansive knowledge, Halley Stevensons has effectively created a waxed cotton shell material that resembles a technical fabric more than any traditional wax cotton. 

The jacket’s torso is lined with our own custom plaid flannel, woven for us in Portugal.  The sleeves and hood are lined with a densely woven fine cotton for easy layering. The drawcord-adjustable hood features a structured front brim to keep rain out of the eyes. The sturdy chin-high front zipper is protected by an exterior storm guard and features a flannel-lined backer to protect the neck and keep you warm through the gale. Periodic reproofing with spray available at Freeman will maintain water resistance for years on end.

Each jacket is carefully handcrafted in Seattle. Pre-orders will receive complimentary shipping and regular updates from the studio until they ship at the end of August.
