The fabric is a lightweight, 5 oz. blend of 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton, and if you look closely you'll see that it has a nice texture to it. The hemp and cotton combo makes this tee very breathable and soft, and is also good for the environment. Jungmaven's goal is "Everyone in a hemp tee shirt by 2020" to help mitigate climate change.
