If there's one thing we love here at Freeman, it's gotta be an incredibly well-made pair of jeans. Tellason has been delivering on that idea for nearly a decade, cutting and sewing their denim and apparel in San Francisco, the birthplace of denim jeans. Tellason has always used custom-made selvedge denim from Cone Mills' White Oak plant in Greensboro, North Carolina, a fabric that's made on old-fashioned Draper shuttle looms that are expensive to procure and maintain. The result of making their jeans from denim crafted on these machines? A price that, while more than reasonable for domestically-made selvedge denim, can be out of reach for more budget-conscious customers. So, with that in mind, Tellason has introduced a new, more wallet-friendly line: Tellason Stock, whose jeans cost $99. Yes, you read that right.
Tellason Stock jeans are cut and sewn in San Francisco, the same as the standard Tellason line. They feature the same bulletproof construction, button fly, chain-stitched hem and canvas-lined back pockets that have made Tellason such a favorite over the years. Here's the only difference: the denim used for the Tellason Stock line still comes from the White Oak plant – it's just made on modern, higher-efficiency machines that produce non-selvedge denim. It's still a beautiful, 14 oz. indigo-dyed denim made by Cone Mills, cut and sewn by Tellason in their San Francisco factory. The denim just costs less than the custom-made selvedge stuff, and Tellason is passing the savings on to customers.
At Freeman, we're carrying the Tellason Stock in Slim Taper. It offers a medium-low rise, and a modern, snug silhouette that currently stands as our slimmest fitting denim offering – like a slimmer version of Tellason's Ladbroke Grove. They also feature a more pronounced taper, and thus a smaller leg opening, than the Ladbrokes. Personally, I'm planning to grab a pair for myself ASAP – at that price, how could I not? If you have any questions about sizing or fit on the Tellason Stock Slim Taper, don't hesitate to shoot us an e-mail or give us a call at the store at (206) 327-9932. We'd love to help you get into a pair of these awesome, affordable jeans!
